Traveling with a great deal of luggage can be burdensome. Many people have gone so far as to box up and ship a stroller to their destination because the shipping charge was cheaper than renting a stroller once they get there. Some people have also bagged up their dirty laundry, put it in a box and shipped it home, saving their luggage space for souvenirs and other purchases they've made. Likewise, those purchases made while traveling can also be boxed up and shipped home.

Basically, anything not used during the actual traveling process can be shipped either to the destination or back home ahead of time, and often it isn't as expensive as you think.
