| Amsterdam: A Visitor’s Perspective.:Part III |
|
The city awakes from its sleep, emerging from the mist making mornings there spectacular to wake up too. As the day progresses, a tourist could go enjoy the 1200 old bridges that accompany all of Amsterdam’s 150 canals. There is also the Jewish Historical Museum or the Rembrandt Museum or if that does not interest you then maybe a floating flower market will. Then there are always the obvious coffee shops and nightclubs that thrive in Amsterdam’s exciting night life. While Amsterdam is a Dutch city, the most common language used there is English, which is spoken by a large portion of the population there. Most people that reside in Amsterdam are friendly with not a care in the world. Amsterdam is located in the Netherlands; each province of the Netherlands has an Association for Foreign Travel (also called VVV) which is tourist organizations that boast attendants who are fluent in different languages. The agencies help tourists and visitors make travel arrangements, book any arrangements needed and inform the visitor(s) on any happenings going on. For around $2.50, a magazine called The Amsterdam Day by Day can be purchased that lists a schedule for every event and activity going on for that particular month.

A common stereotype in the minds of many is that the locals of Amsterdam are constantly high. This would be a poor misconception as most of the locals are biking down the streets, shopping, eating at restaurants or just relaxing at a local sidewalk café.
